1. General

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the Legacy Docks website and the purchase of any products or services provided by Legacy Docks. By accessing our website or purchasing our products or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use our website or services.

2. Products & Services

​

Legacy Docks designs, supplies, and sells:

  • Floating docks

  • Pole docks

  • Ramps and walkways

  • Dock accessories (including but not limited to ladders, cleats, and lighting)

  • Optional delivery and installation services

All products may be custom-built or modified to customer specifications.

3. Installation & Customer Responsibility

​

Legacy Docks may offer installation services for an additional fee. In some cases, customers may choose to install products themselves or through a third party.

  • Any customer-installed or third-party-installed products are installed entirely at the customer’s own risk.

  • Legacy Docks is not responsible for improper installation, site conditions, or modifications performed by anyone other than Legacy Docks.

4. Site Conditions & Permits

​

The customer is solely responsible for:

  • Verifying water depth and water level fluctuations

  • Assessing lakebed and shoreline conditions

  • Ensuring shoreline stability and suitability

  • Obtaining all required permits, approvals, or permissions (including municipal, conservation authority, or HOA approvals)

Legacy Docks makes no guarantees regarding site suitability and assumes no responsibility for issues arising from site conditions.

5. Use of Docks & Safety Disclaimer

​

All docks and accessories are intended for recreational use only.

Customers acknowledge and agree that:

  • Use of docks involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slipping, falling, drowning, and equipment failure

  • Children should always be supervised

  • Docks should not be overloaded or used for purposes beyond their intended design

Legacy Docks is not liable for personal injury, death, or property damage resulting from the use or misuse of any dock or accessory, except where required by law.

6. Warranty

​

Legacy Docks provides the following limited warranties:

  • Manufacturing defects: Covered in accordance with the applicable manufacturer’s warranty

  • Frame workmanship: Covered for 8 years, unless damage is caused by negligence, misuse, improper installation, environmental conditions, or unauthorized modification

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Ice movement, flooding, storms, waves, or boat impact

  • Improper seasonal removal or storage

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or modification

No other warranties, express or implied, are provided except as required by Ontario law.

7. Limitation of Liability

​

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Legacy Docks shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

  • Liability shall never exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim

This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by ice, weather, water conditions, acts of nature, or third parties.

8. Payments & Deposits

​

  • Deposits are required to secure orders and production

  • Deposits are non-refundable, except in extraordinary circumstances at the sole discretion of Legacy Docks

  • Remaining balances are typically due upon completion or delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing

Failure to pay balances may result in delayed delivery or installation.

9. Photography & Marketing

​

Legacy Docks may photograph completed installations and use such images for marketing and promotional purposes.

  • No customer names, addresses, or identifying information will be displayed

  • Ownership of all photos remains with Legacy Docks

​

10. Website Use

​

  • Users must be 18 years of age or older to use this website

  • Website content is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute engineering, legal, or professional advice

Legacy Docks makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy or completeness of website information.

​

11. Governing Law

​

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in Ontario courts.

12. Changes to Terms

​

Legacy Docks reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
